Orders & Custom
People often say, "There are so many patterns and colors, how can I
choose?"
The easiest way to choose is by looking at our website and getting an
idea of what you like. If you see something that you like, but one or two
colors are off, or the size isn't right, you can order the piece "as is"
but with the appropriate changes "change that console design to fit on
a 18"x18" end table, for example, or "make the flowers red instead of white."
You still know what you're getting, but you've tweaked it just a little
to make it personal. We have hundreds of our favorite items cataloged here
and we hope you have a great time searching out your piece. Look at our
Available Now section to see stock items with immediate shipping.
We are represented at several galleries across the country. You may
visit them and look at what they have in stock and you may go home with
your Bella Bella piece that day. Remember to bring any fabric or paint
swatches that you need to match with you. Buying from the gallery's floor
pieces eliminates any uncertainty about placing a special order. You can
see exactly what you're getting, and you get immediate gratification!
Custom Order Tips
We know that sometimes putting together an order can be overwhelming,
there are so many options! Here are some simple tips to help you create
your perfect piece.
Try small, limited changes to existing designs first. Substitutions
in color are often all that’s necessary to come up with a beautiful and
unique piece for your home. A single substitution for the dominant pattern
like using retro foliage instead of spiral changes a design entirely. Changing
a central image from a playful pear to a classical image like the crown
transforms the mood of a piece. Resist the temptation to reinvent the wheel!
Remember that solid fields of mottled color are beautiful on their own
and provide a nice counterpoint to pattern. Too much pattern looks busy,
not lush, especially on small pieces. In general, Lara doesn't shrink pattern
down when she adapts a coffee table design to a small mini pedestal, for
example she chooses representative elements and eliminates others to create
a pleasing, unified design.
If you like complicated designs with lots of different patterned elements,
repeat some of the colors you use within the design. Neutral tones can
be very useful in taming complicated designs oatmeal, tan, black, greens
and earthy cocoa and rust tones are good filler colors.
Choose colors that work together, and remember that less really is more.
Often people ask Lara to include a touch of a clashing color, simply because
there's a gold thread in the fabric, or a splash of turquoise in the painting.
If a color sticks out in your table, it won't matter if it matches, it
just calls too much attention to itself. It's better to use less permanent
accessories like vases, pillows, and fresh flowers to unify unusual colors.
Always keep in mind that each piece is made by hand, and leave some
room for artistic discretion. Please avoid requesting a specific number
of petals on each flower, for example; the joy of making this work lies
in the organic process of cutting new pattern and assembling it into a
design that is both unique to each piece and recognizable as Bella Bella
by Lara Moore.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How can I get a catalog?
A. Catalogs are available for download on our website. Lara is always
coming up with new ideas and patterns. We recommend that you look online
to see our newest creations as it is more current than the catalogs.
Q. What are your prices?
A. Prices are available upon request. Please contact us.
Q. Can I buy from you directly?
A. If there are no galleries in your area we will be happy to help
you. If there is a gallery near you we will direct you to them. Our loyalty
is with our dealers and we do not wish to compete with them.
Q. I saw your work on vacation, but there's no gallery near me. How
can I order?
A. If you know the size of the piece, and the pattern you want, you
can usually order by phone through any gallery using a credit card, just
ask to have the piece shipped directly to you.
Q. I saw a piece I liked in a gallery, but now it's sold. Can you tell
me what pattern it was?
A. If you know the name of the gallery, the general size (console or
coffee table), and some colors in the piece, we can usually look through
our records to find your pattern.
Q. How long will it take to get my piece? Will it arrive assembled?
A. We have a very structured schedule at Bella Bella and will quote
a "shipdate" when you place your order. It's usually 6-10 weeks, depending
on the season. The "shipdate" is our drop-dead day to have your order leave
the studio. Most pieces ship via FedEx, and all furniture ships disassembled.
We include screws and simple instructions for attaching table tops to their
bases.
Q. Do you sell to interior designers?
A. Yes - we require a resale certificate AND one of the following:
membership in a professional design association; a commercial address for
interior design or a commercial listing in the yellow pages specifically
for interior design. We also have a minimum opening order.
Q. Can I get a different size of table or mirror than what you have
shown?
A. Yes! Our height options are limited to the leg and base heights
we offer, but special size table tops, mirrors and wall art are no problem.
Q. Do you offer different table legs or bases than what you have shown?
A. Please see the Bases and Legs section for options available. You
are always welcome to purchase a table top only and supply your own base.
Q. How accurate are the colors shown on your website or in the brochure?
A. Please see “Colors” section for more information.
Q. Can I make changes to colors or patterns? What if I want a round
table, and the design I like is shown on a square table?
A. We make color and pattern substitutions all the time, and Lara can
translate designs between different sizes and shapes.
Q. I'm not sure what I want. Can Lara make suggestions?
A. If you have a good idea about what you want and just have a simple
blue or red? or grass or spiral? kind of question, you can email us by
using our contact form. Many of our galleries provide wonderful assistance
with design questions as well.
If you need more detailed help, Lara does do custom design. She will
look at your fabric and paint swatches, room photos, and your notes about
what you like and don't like in terms of color and pattern to create sketches
and coordinating samples. There is a fee, and it takes 3-4 weeks from the
time we receive your information; the fee includes one set of revisions
and usually is not applicable to the cost of the table.
Q. Do these tables go outside?
A. No. Our finish is not made for outdoor use, and paper will fade
in direct sunlight.
Q. What are the care instructions for my piece?
A. Use a soft cloth (not paper towels) and glass cleaner for every
day cleaning. A thin layer of paste wax can applied to spiff up the finish
if you notice any scratches. Keep your table away from direct sunlight,
and don't put it outside.
Q. How durable is the finish?
A. Our resin is an industrial grade used in bars and restaurants. It's
heat, water and alcohol-resistant, so it won't get watermarks or be affected
by spilled food, coffee, wine, and so on. Like wood or glass, it will scratch
if you drag an unfinished ceramic plate across it, so you should use common
sense in that respect. Regular use will create fine patina scratches, similar
to the way fine leather acquires a patina over time; most people find these
unnoticeable. If you don't want any wear to show, you can always get a
piece of glass cut to cover your table. We don't love that look, and often
people remove the glass once they feel more comfortable with the finish,
but it's always an option. There is not a way to buff out scratches; we
can re-resin pieces to restore the finish.
As always you are welcome to contact us with any questions.
